Welcome! The Humane Society of the Lakes (HSL) is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals through education, public awareness and prompt response to needs arising from specific complaints. It is also the mission of the HSL to provide service for stray, abandoned and unwanted animals. We rely 100% upon donations. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please check the Adoptable Animals section of this website. If you find an animal that you like, please fill out the Adoption Application. Adoption fees for Dogs are $125.00 and Cats are $95.00. As always, additional contributions are greatly appreciated Tuxes & Tails is coming!!! Tuxes and Tails will be held November 21st starting at 6:30 PM. Get all the details on our <---Calendar of Events.<---  Puppies, Puppies, Puppies!!!We have 4 female Heeler mix puppies and a female Lab mix pup that are ready for adoption. Come pick your favorite before they're all gone! Volunteers Needed--several opportunites available. Volunteer Orientation is held the last Thursday of each month from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the shelter. If interested in volunteering at the Humane Society, please call Casandra at 218-847-3087.  We have a new dog walking program for people of all ages. Stop in to the shelter or call 874-0511 for more information. All of our dogs would love to have a daily walk, and we need more volunteers to make this happen. If you are missing a pet, please check our website to see if your pet has been turned into us. Also, please check our Lost and Found link, if you don't see your pet, please add them, so we know they are missing.
